DESCRIPTION
Left-hand hand taps are used for cutting left-handed (LH) internal threads. These are necessary when a thread must tighten in the opposite direction of the standard right-hand (RH) thread, such as in rotating components or applications requiring self-locking.
3-piece set: Usually includes:
Taper tap – with a longer lead for easier thread starting.
Second tap – intermediate cutting for deeper thread formation.
Bottoming tap – for cutting threads to the bottom of a hole.
Metric threads (ISO Metric - DIN 13): E.g., M6x1.0, M10x1.5, M12x1.75.
Material: Typically made from HSS (High-Speed Steel) or HSS-E for higher durability.
Usage: Can be used manually with a tap wrench or ratchet, as well as in low-speed machines.
Applications:
Assemblies requiring reverse tightening (e.g., left-hand nuts).
Automotive, bicycle, tooling, and manufacturing industries.
