Left-hand machine taps with metric fine threads are specialized cutting tools used to create left-hand (LH) internal threads with a fine pitch in metal or plastic workpieces.
Characteristics:
🔹 Left-Hand Threads: Used when the screw needs to tighten in the opposite direction of standard right-hand threads.
🔹 Metric Fine Thread (ISO Fine Pitch):
Has a smaller pitch than coarse thread for the same diameter.
Examples:
M10x1.25 (fine thread) instead of M10x1.5 (coarse thread).
M12x1.0 instead of M12x1.75.
🔹 Material Composition:
HSS (High-Speed Steel) → General use.
HSS-E (Cobalt for heat resistance) → For more demanding applications.
Types of Machine Taps:
